Second Order Of Business:
The Explanation.
*I bought my first pair of Brooks! I'm calling them my Baby Brooks because I can't even tell you how long it's been since I bought new running shoes. I love them. So far they've been working on their trail running skills, a 10k and their first half marathon. I shaved 8 minutes off my half marathon time (whoop!! whoop!!). I went to the Charlotte Running Company, had them do my gait analysis and tell me which kind of shoes I needed, and they helped me pick out a pair. These are the fancy ones we came up with!
* My first trip to Charleston happened. I'm in love. I want to move there now. So much delicious food. Pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, and crab and shrimp... that was my favorite thing I ate while I was there, and I would drive all the way back immediately if I could eat it again.
*The trip was for the Cooper River Bridge 10k. 45,000 people is too many people. I had a blast, not my best run time (1:05). Maybe because I spent the entire hour dodging walkers. I will do this again only if I register early enough to get a running slot and not have to stay in the ghetto (and I mean the ghetto). It was an amazing trip though and such an experience to be part of an event that huge. It was seriously standing room only and it was crazy.
*Cassie and Kelsey both did great! 1:02 and 1:07 respectively. Kelsey is training for a half marathon and I think this was her first race longer then a 5k so we were really proud of her.
*Charlotte RaceFest Half Marathon (my second of the year!) I completed in 2:17:38. 8 minutes down from my first half. It felt real good but I didn't feel like I was mentally prepared until I was 3 miles in. I think I just got nervous because everyone made a big fuss about how hilly the Thunder Road half is (same area, almost the some layout of the race). It was okay. The worst hill was at the start of mile 13, which made finishing strong a little difficult, but as far as I'm concerned, I'm pretty proud of how I did on this one.
* Abita Strawberry is back! Go buy some!
* There was a day this week called National Sibling Day or something of the sorts so I found this awesome picture of me and my bro-bro at our preschool graduation (yea we're twins, no, not identical). Obviously, It was the best day of my life and he looks like he's going to make a break for it before they find more rolls of film. I love it and I love him. He actually just made the SWAT team which is crazy and totally him and he's going to be awesome at it. And just in case you were curious this girl with a preschool diploma (and a college degree) also now how has a semi-big girl job. Don't ask me to explain that.
* Oh and finally, always let the youngest pick out the cards. Ty-ty, my youngest cousin on my mom's side, found this awesome Easter card and giggled so hard and long about it that my aunt decided it was an acceptable card. Always let the babies choose. It made me laugh, and I love that the boys picked out my Easter card.

  1. I'm eating my breakfast out of a mason jar right now. :-)

I'm so jealous of people who run, every so often I get it into my head that I'd like to try but then I remember how much I like eating, sleeping and watching TV...so it doesn't happen.
